Course Content

This course aims to provide learners with the most up-to-date skills, knowledge and understanding to undertake a variety of roles within an organisation. You will receive training which not only gives you good IT skills, but will also teach you how to speak the language of business. We have a unique opportunity to combine study with relevant work experience locally within a variety of business areas. A good administrator provides a vital support function in any busy office. You’ll need to master the art of working under your own initiative to tight deadlines. You must therefore be committed fully to the opportunity presented.

Entry Requirements

Entry is subject to a selection process which will assess suitability in terms of academic qualifications, software knowledge and motivation. Although every student will be considered on an individual basis, the course is ideally suited to those who have achieved any of the following: Certificate in Business Administration & IT (Tutor reference, Communications and IT at Level 5/6); Two SQA Higher passes desirable (one of which should be English); SVQ Level 2 Administration (Educational reference and evidence of IT/Communications skills to be demonstrated); SVQ Level 3 Administration Applicants with relevant administration experience are welcome. They will be assessed on an individual basis and may be required to undertake additional exercises. All applicants will receive a telephone interview to discuss the course suitability and motivation for undertaking the course.

Future Prospects

At the moment we do not deliver HND Administration and Information Technology (year 2) distance learning however if the demand was there then we would certainly consider this.
