Completion Award - HND Childhood Practice
Course Content
Candidates will build on the knowledge and understanding they have gained in the PDA Childhood Practice Award at Level 8 to advance their careers beyond practitioner role and facilitate completion of the HND Childhood Practice Group Award.
Entry Requirements
Candidates must hold a PDA CHILDHOOD PRACTICE LEVEL 8 QUALIFICATION. In addition, learners should be working in, or have access to a placement in the Childhood Practice Sector. A minimum of 9 hours a week work experience is recommended.
Method of Assessment
Open book and a variety of different methods, although the predominant style is reports/reflective accounts.
Future Prospects
240 points need to be gained to achieve the HND successfully. Candidates should check their previously gained qualifications e.g. SVQ 3, HNC Childhood Practice, HNC Early Education and Childcare or equivalent, to ensure they have the sufficient number of points. Learners can progress to the BA Childhood Practice or PDA Childhood Practice at SCQF level 9. Both these qualifications are the SSSC registration requirements for manager/lead practitioner.
