HND Computing: Networking (Year 1)
The HND Networking will provide you with advanced knowledge for a successful career in networking technology. The course provides a comprehensive range of knowledge and practical skills in configuring, designing, building and maintaining computer network infrastructures.
This course will allow students to study towards up-to-date Vendor specific certifications in the skills that are in demand for many different types of career in Networking and Server. The course allows students to study for, and gain a Cisco CCNA qualification over this 2 year programme. Delivery is on a full-time basis to include lectures, practical tutorials and self-study sessions.
Four relevant National 5s or equivalent, level A/B plus two relevant Highers (C or above) or completion of computing-related certificate course. Mature applicants with relevant experience will be assessed individually. All applicants will be invited to a 2 stage interview selection process. Reference may be required.
Method of Assessment
There are theoretical and practical aspects assessed throughout the year with a final exam in year 1 and a project at the end of the year 2.
The college has strong articulation agreements with a number of universities into a range of degree programmes. This course will also provide students with the skills for employment.
