HND Construction Management (Year 2)
Course Content
This course gives learners the skills needed for employment in this highly demanding sector in roles including Construction Managers, Project Managers, Site Managers and Site Agents.
Managers in the construction industry need to be good at organising and planning, motivating, managing people and creatively solving problems to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.
The first year of the course (HNC level) covers a broad base of skills and knowledge required in the construction industry, and the second year (HND level) builds upon this to prepare learners for employment.
This course can be studied on a flexible basis by applicants already employed in a related discipline, with approval from their employer.
Entry Requirements
HNC Built Environment, HNC Construction Management, or relevant industry experience. Each application will be considered on an individual basis, and the course programme will be tailored to suit.
Applicants whose first language is not English should have a minimum ESOL Higher level.
Method of Assessment
This programme is assessed through the submission of written reports, ongoing course assessment and a project.
Future Prospects
Supervisory and management positions in the construction industry. Articulation to Degree level programmes. This HND will enable learners to achieve appropriate professional body recognition in particular, but not exclusively, from the Chartered Institute of Building. HND Construction Management support learning in the SVQ 4 Construction: Technical Modern Apprenticeship Frameworks.
