HND Architectural Technology (Year 1)

Course Content

This course provides the essential skills for the role of Architectural Technician. The technical and scientific side of design is explored plus the full architectural process from sketching and computer-aided design to material specification and the very latest construction technologies. This course will enable learners to achieve professional body recognition in particular, but not exclusively, from the Chartered Institute of Building.

Entry Requirements

A National Certificate in Built Environment, PDA Certificate, relevant industrial experience, or two Highers (or equivalent) at grade C or above, preferably in Maths and a Science. Applicants who do not meet these criteria, but have relevant industry-related experience, will be considered at the discretion of the Curriculum and Quality Leader.

Method of Assessment

Submission of written reports, ongoing course assessment and a graded unit project.

Progression onto HND Architectural Technology Year 2.
