HND Acting and Performance - Year 2

Course Content

This highly practical course aims to further develop professional skills in acting, performance and theatre-making. Units include: Acting; Acting for Camera; Voice; Movement; Audition Technique and Professional Development for Actors. With our ‘Specialisms’ pathway, learners have the option to develop their own areas of interest and can choose: Community Drama; Directing; Devising; Script Writing and Leading a Workshop units.  You will have the opportunity to perform two text-based productions, with technical support, for 3 nights each at The Space, our own purpose built Theatre. Additional opportunities include: workshops with theatre specialists, theatre trips and collaborative projects across art forms.

Entry Requirements

You require a 15 credit HNC in Acting and Performance to be eligible for applying to the HND Acting and Performance course.

Method of Assessment

Combination of observation of participation in practical classes, rehearsals, performances, group presentations and written assignments.

Future Prospects

Progression to a degree completion award or other degrees. Entry to Conservatoire level Drama Schools. Employment in the community theatre work, theatre outreach departments and within the performing arts industry.
