HND Applied Biological Science (Year 2)

Course Content

A wide range of theoretical and practical aspects are covered in this course including microbiology, DNA Molecular techniques, cell biology and proteins structure and function. A self-designed experimental project will also be carried out. These units combined with practical aspects provide a diverse learning experience and the knowledge and skills needed for further study or employment.

Entry Requirements

Full completion of 15 credits from HNC Applied Science.

Method of Assessment

A range of closed-book assessments, coursework assignments and practical based techniques are all used to assess the course. Each unit is individually assessed and an experimentally based graded unit is required to be carried out.

Future Prospects

Entry to third year of some university programmes as well as second entry is available. Progression to employment in a laboratory in a technical role can also be achieved.
