HNC Travel and Tourism

Course Content

The tourism sector is worth £11 billion to the Scottish economy every year and is a growth industry worldwide. Our HNC graduates are well-placed to work within national and international tourism markets. 

 

This course offers a wide cross-section of theoretical and practical skills required by the travel and tourism industry and includes off-campus visits to provide learners with a range of skills and knowledge. Topics include International Tourism; Marketing; Customer Care; Working as Senior Air Cabin Crew; Tour Guiding and Resort Rep; Sustainability and Retail Travel Practice.

 

We are now offering a fast-track option starting in August, learners can complete an HNC in half the usual time (August to December).

Entry Requirements

Applicants should have at least one Higher at Grade C or above, a relevant NQ/NC Award or a Certificate Course with at least 12 units. Relevant life/work experience or other qualifications will also be considered. 


Applicants will be invited to a recruitment workshop to assess suitability for the course.

Method of Assessment

Each unit will be continually assessed through end of unit assessments or by the completion of course work. No end of course assessment or exam.

Future Prospects

HND Travel and Tourism or entry to a relevant degree programme at university. Employment within the industry may be available on successful completion.
