Course Content
The highly-practical content includes work experience, venue visits, planning and implementing events and input from industry experts. Subjects include: Organising an Event; PR Principles and Practice; Work Placement; Events Budgeting and Funding; Events Legislation; Digital Marketing. This course will prepare the learner for further study or various careers in this growing industry. Events Management is a vibrant and booming sector worth an annual £42.3 billion to the UK economy and provides opportunities to work across a diverse range of events including music festivals, conferences, cultural events, sporting occasions and exhibitions.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should have at least one Higher at Grade C or above or a relevant NQ/NC Award with at least 12 units. Applicants will attend an interview and undertake a written exercise to determine their suitability for the course. Applicants with relevant industry/life experience or other qualifications will also be considered.
Method of Assessment
Each unit will be continually assessed through end of unit assessments or by the completion of course work. No end of course assessment or exam.
Future Prospects
Employment within the events industry, or articulation to Year 2 Events Management or related degree programmes at various universities, including RGU, Napier and Glasgow Caledonian.
