HNC Digital Design and Web Development

Course Content

In this industry-recognised course you will learn how to create mobile web applications using HTML, CSS & JavaScript. You will also learn how to create dynamic websites using PHP and MySQL databases. You will apply your knowledge to create professional, clean and secure websites. Whether you want to work for an organisation or as a freelancer, web developers are in demand. Delivery is on a full-time basis to include lectures, practical tutorials and self-study sessions. 

Entry Requirements

Four National 5 qualifications at A or B and two Highers including one in a STEM subject (C or above). 


Foundation Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media or Foundation Apprenticeship in IT Software Development. 


Progression from SCQF level 5/6 Computing college course passing all credits and B grade achieved in Computing Project.


Mature applicants with relevant experience are assessed individually for suitability.

All applicants will be invited to a two-stage interview selection process. Suitable references are also a requirement. 

Method of Assessment

Internal unit assessments are continuous throughout the course with a final exam at the end of the year.
