Course Content
Cyber Security is an ongoing key concern globally in terms of protecting business systems and data from cyber threats and attacks. The HNC Cyber Security will provide you with a good foundation in a range of security related disciplines to prepare you for progression on to an HND, University or related work within the Cyber Security Industry. You will gain knowledge and skills in areas related to Data Security, Software Development, Computer Networking, Ethical Hacking, Linux Operating Systems and Digital Forensics. Delivery is on a full-time basis to include lectures, practical tutorials and self-study sessions.
Entry Requirements
Four relevant National 5 qualifications or equivalent at level A/B plus two relevant Highers (C or above). Alternatively, a computing related Foundation Apprenticeship or a computing related certificate course with all credits completed and B grade achieved in Computing Project. Mature applicants with relevant experience are assessed individually for suitability. All applicants will be invited to a two-stage interview selection process. Suitable references are also a requirement.
Method of Assessment
Internal unit assessments are continuous throughout the course with a final exam at the end of the year.
Future Prospects
Progression directly on to HND Cyber Security. Pathways to relevant degree programmes possible. Provides excellent prospects for a successful career in the Cyber Security and Computing and Technology sectors.
