HNC Computer Games Development
Course Content
This course will give a strong foundation in a fast-growing digital industry. Applicants will learn how to create games and apply and integrate different types of game technology. There will be mix of practical and theoretical learning vital for an understanding of this field. Applicants will also learn about Computer Games Programming, Game Design Theory, Game Interface Design and Animation and take part in team activities. Delivery is on a full-time basis to include lectures, practical tutorials and self-study sessions.
Entry Requirements
2 Highers (including one in a STEM subject) and National 5 Maths
or
Progression from SCQF level 5/6 Computing college course A grade with all credits.
or
Foundation Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media or Foundation Apprenticeship in IT Software Development.
or
Mature applicants with relevant experience will be assessed individually. All applicants will be invited to a 2 stage interview and asked to provide a reference.
Method of Assessment
Continuous assessment throughout the course and end of year project.
Future Prospects
Progression to the HND Games Development Course year 2. Excellent prospects for employment in games and media industries. Alternatively, you may articulate into one of the many relevant university degree programmes.
