Course Content
The aim of this course is to provide a broad understanding of business organisations and the environment in which they operate. Learners will gain skills in key business areas that are valued by employers. There are core units in the areas of management of people and organisations, marketing, economics, accounting, IT and business communication. Learners will also have the opportunity to study either the Management & Leadership option set, which will focus on management theorists and theories of leadership or the Marketing and PR option set, which includes marketing theories and creating a digital portfolio, which you can use to showcase your skills to employers and universities.
Entry Requirements
A minimum of two Higher passes (English is desirable) or successful attendance and completion of a relevant Advanced Certificate level course (may require a reference). Applicants with relevant work experience will also be considered. Selection will be based upon interview, core skills testing and a written piece of work.
Method of Assessment
Continual assessment with a graded unit exam at the end of year 2.
Future Prospects
This course may lead to HND Business, university or employment in a variety of roles. Learners who wish to progress to HND Business will be required to gain 15 credits at HNC level and a satisfactory reference may also be required.
