HNC Business: Human Resources
Course Content
You will gain skills in key business areas that are valued by employers. The programme will develop skills within various business functions but will have a focus on Human Resource Management. Learners will study core units in the areas of managing people, marketing, economics, accounting, IT and business communication. Learners will study the employee life cycle from recruitment to the employee exiting the business. Globally there is a shortage of talent so hiring the right people and retaining them is key to any business so that they can remain competitive. This programme will provide the skills, knowledge and confidence required to start an academic journey to university, the workplace or HND Business.
Entry Requirements
A minimum of two Higher passes (English is desirable) or successful attendance and completion of a relevant Advanced Certificate level course (may require a reference). Applicants with relevant work experience will also be considered. Selection will be based upon interview, core skills testing and a written piece of work.
Method of Assessment
Continual assessment with a graded unit exam at the end of the year.
Future Prospects
This course is a stepping stone to HND Business, university or employment. Learners who wish to progress to HND will be required to gain 15 credits from HNC Business and a satisfactory reference from the group tutor may be needed.
