HNC Business: Marketing and Public Relations
This course develops learners' skills within various business functions but will have a Marketing and Public Relations focus. Learners will gain skills in key business areas that are valued by employers. Learners will study core units in the areas of management of people, marketing, economics, accounting, IT and business communication. Learners will also study the Marketing & PR option set which will focus on marketing theories and creating a digital portfolio, which learners can use to showcase their skills to employers and universities. This course will give the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to start an academic journey to university, the workplace or HND Business.
A minimum of two Higher passes (English is desirable) or successful attendance and completion of a relevant Advanced Certificate level course (may require a reference). Applicants with relevant work experience will also be considered. Selection will be based upon interview, core skills testing and a written piece of work.
Method of Assessment
Continual assessment with a graded unit exam at the end of the year.
This course may lead to HND Business, university or employment in a variety of roles. Learners who wish to progress to HND Business will be required to gain 15 credits from HNC and a satisfactory reference may also be required.
