HNC 3D Design: Product and Interior Design
Course Content
This course is about designing spaces and the products within it with a focus on developing learners’ creative thinking and design skills. A project-based course, this offers a range of Interior and Product Design related projects including: Interior Design, Perspective Drawing for 3D Design, 2D and 3D Digital Imaging, Developmental Drawing, Model Making, 3D Design Graded Unit and Product Design. There is also the opportunity to utilise advanced technologies including laser cutting and 3D printing.
Entry Requirements
Minimum of 1 relevant Higher/equivalent qualifications, preferred English and Art/Design or successful completion of a relevant SCQF level 6 course (and minimum 85% attendance). At interview applicants are required to bring a portfolio of work such as drawings/designs/photography/3D work. Digital portfolio submissions are also accepted. Mature candidates without formal qualifications will be considered on presentation of a strong portfolio.
Method of Assessment
Continuous internal/external assessment with the focus on portfolio production and submission.
Future Prospects
Successful learners may apply to study at degree level at university or go into employment. Employment opportunities in a wide range of careers.
