Princes Trust Personal Development Programme (2018/19)
A 12-week personal development course where candidates have opportunities to develop abilities in Leadership, Caring for Others, Motivation, Tolerance, Confidence, and Taking Responsibility. Team members participate in a 2-week work placement, a week long outward bound/team building residential trip, community and environmental projects and a final team challenge. They are also given the opportunity for 1 day courses such as First Aid; Health & Safety; and Food Hygiene. Team members will also undertake a Communication qualification.
Young people aged 16–25. Prioritisation will be given to people leaving care, young offenders, educational underachievers and the long term unemployed.
Entry may be through direct application or referral from internal or external partner agencies. All applicants will be interviewed and may be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check as the programme includes a placement element.
The Prince's Trust programme works closely with local employers and internal/external partners to support young people into employment, training or education.
Assessment is continuously carried out through creation of a portfolio of evidence containing examples of activities undertaken by the team members.
