Designed to develop knowledge and understanding of Physics, Chemistry and Maths. In addition to these core subjects you will also be working towards developing skills in communications and IT. SWAP (Scottish Wider Access Programme) courses are designed if you have few or no formal qualifications and have been out of full-time education for at least 3 years (5 years if studied Highers or a Higher National course or similar level). SWAP Access courses provide an alternative route into Higher education through progression routes at colleges or Scottish universities.
This course is not intended for recent school leavers and you must have been out of full time education for 3 years or more depending on previous qualifications. There are no minimum entry requirements but applicants will be required to attend an informal interview and pass a short entry diagnostic assessment. English efficiency entry requirements are an IELTS score of at least 6.0.
This course can lead on to a range of Physical Science, Engineering and Therapeutic and Diagnostic Radiography degree options at university. Closed book assessments at the end of each unit and the completion of compulsory practical experiments.
