NC Hospitality (Level 5) (2018/19)

Course Content

Subjects include: Local Hospitality Provision, Service of Food and Drink, Customer Care, Event Organisation, Cookery Processes, Food Preparation Techniques, Organisation of Practical Skills, Working Safely, Food Hygiene, Hospitality Skills for Work Units, Non-alcoholic Beverages and Cold Preparations.

Target Audience

School pupils or returners to education choosing to start at this level.

Entry Requirements

At least two relevant National 4 or equivalent grades and a satisfactory reference. All applicants will attend an information session and an interview for selection.

Future Prospects

Successful completion of this programme allows progression to Certificate in Hospitality. It also enhances employment opportunities within the hospitality industry.


Internal continuous assessments using various methods including open and closed book assessments, observations and projects.
