Course Content

Provides an excellent introduction to the hospitality industry. Students will be involved in both food production and food service and the range of units include: Food Production, Food Service, Events, Costing, Food Hygiene, Customer Care, Employability Skills and developing research and report writing skills.

Target Audience

School leavers and adult returners looking at starting a new career.

Entry Requirements

To have completed four years of secondary education with National 5 qualifications or equivalent grades. A keen interest in hospitality with a view to progressing to HNC Hospitality Management along with a satisfactory reference is required.

Future Prospects

This course has been designed to meet the growing needs of the hospitality industry, allowing the learner the opportunity to go straight into employment or into HNC Hospitality.


Internal continuous assessments using various methods including open and closed book assessments, observations and projects.
