NC Acting and Performance (2017/18)

Course Content

This dynamic and engaging course allows students to explore and develop their interest in theatre and performance in a highly-practical way.

Areas covered include: Acting, Voice, Movement Skills, Devising Theatre, Playwriting, Preparation for Audition and Theatre History.

By the end of the course students will have had an opportunity to perform in front of an audience and have an excellent introductory grounding in theatre skills in preparation for further training.

Target Audience

Candidates with an interest in acting, performance, theatre and community arts.

Entry Requirements

No set entry qualifications, selection is through observation of participation in a workshop, performance of audition monologues, interview and the completion of a short diagnostic test for essential skills. Please note this course involves physical contact and working closely with other students.

Future Prospects

Students may go on to further study within the department at HNC or HND level or to further study in FE or HE.


Combination of practical classwork, performance and written assignments.
