HND Acting and Performance (2017/18)

Course Content

Units include: acting, voice, movement, production, professional development for actors, graded unit, community theatre, plus the chance to specialise in devising, writing or directing.
Students will get a range of performance opportunities including two text-based performances at The Space, Kingsway Campus and involvement in directing projects and other collaborations. Additional opportunities include: workshops with theatre specialists, theatre trips and collaborative projects across art forms.

Target Audience

This course is suited to those candidates who are looking to pursue a career in the performing arts with a specific interest in acting, directing, devising and community arts.

Entry Requirements

HNC Acting and Performance or equivalent qualification. Participation in a workshop and performance of two monologues at audition. Completion of a short test for essential skills. Please note this course involves physical contact and working closely with other students.

Future Prospects

Progression to a degree completion award or other degrees. Employment in the creative and digital industries.


A range of methods including observation of participation in practical classes, rehearsals, performances, group presentations and written assignments.
