Macaroon Magic (2016/17)
What will I learn?
During this class, you will learn how to master the French patisserie classic ‘macaroon’. You will learn how to create these colorful bites and how to complement them with a range of delicious fillings including raspberry, sea salt caramel, pistachio, coffee, lime and lemon curd. In the final week of this course you will be given the chance to design your own unique macaroon flavour.
Course content will focus on:
• Basic tools and equipment
• Preparation and finishing macaroons
• Filling: ganache, salt caramel, jam, buttercreams and lemon curd
• Design your own bespoke flavour
Age 16+ years. Basic to intermediate skills are an advantage but not a necessity.
What will I need?
Students will be provided with basic kitchen uniform to bring with them each week. The costs of core ingredients are included in the course fee. Specific requirements will be made known at the course induction. Bring a large plastic container to take home your creations.
What else do I need to know?
This course runs over 3 weeks, 2 hours per session 6 - 8pm Tuesday evenings.
