Access to Animal Care (Part 1) (2019/20)

Eight mandatory units required including: Caring for Hens, Caring for Rabbits, Caring for Guinea Pigs, Looking After Animals, Working with Others. There will also be the opportunity for students to carry out an enterprise activity.

Access to Animal Care (Part 2) (2019/20)

  A short course for individuals who would benefit from improving their personal development as well as employment skills within an animal care setting. There will be practical sessions where students will learn to care for a range of animals.

Access to Community, Education and Humanities (SWAP) (2019/20)

The programme includes a variety of subjects at SCQF levels 5 and 6 and a Preparation for HE class. Access students will be expected to study up to 18 hours in college as well as self-directed study of 10 hours per week. Subjects include history, politics, sociology, psychology and geography.

Access to Horticulture - Skills for Work (SCQF Level 4) (2019/20)

A very hands-on basic programme of study. Subjects will include plant propagation, tree and shrub planting, hard landscaping, plant maintenance, grounds maintenance and horticultural machinery. This course is project-based including various relevant career visits. Plus: Introduction to employability skills, communication, numeracy and IT.
