Fast Track Business and Accounting

Course Content

This is a flexible programme covering a range of topics which will give learners a springboard into further study in three different areas: Accounts; Business Administration and IT; or Business Management.

The qualification has been designed to provide candidates a unique opportunity to study over one academic semester, providing a good all-round knowledge and an opportunity to establish good core skills such as; communication, IT, problem solving, working with others and numeracy skills. It aims to prepare candidates for employment or for progression to further academic qualifications.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for learning and the areas of Accounting, Administration and IT and Business. Entry is subject to a selection process which will assess suitability in terms of academic qualifications and motivation. The preferred academic qualifications are 4 National 4 passes at Level 3 or above including English or full completion of an introductory qualification. Mature applicants are welcome and will be assessed on an individual basis - they may be required to undertake an additional exercise. Selection will be based on:  personal statement, qualifications/experience, and performance in core skills testing and at interview.

Continuous assessment.

Future Prospects

Successful completion, together with a favourable reference from course tutors, may allow progression to HNC Accounting, HNC Business: Administration & IT or HNC Business Management. Applicants who are not accepted for the HN may still be considered for relevant certificate programmes.
