ITEC Complementary Therapies
The content is set out and mostly examined by ITEC external examiners. You will learn practical skills and knowledge in the following areas: Aromatherapy; Carrying Out Massage; Using Essential Oils; Holistic massage; Reflexology; On-site Massage; Business Awareness & Professional Conduct; Indian Head Massage; Anatomy & Physiology and Hot Stone Therapy. Workbooks and essential equipment are necessary for the participation of this course. Extensive study is required to enable completion of this award. You will need to source your own clients for some of the treatments.
A minimum of three National 5s or equivalent, including English and a Science, and a satisfactory reference may be required. All applicants are required to attend a group information session followed by an interview where they must demonstrate passion for the industry and good communication skills. A flexible approach is required as there may be an element of evening study.
Method of Assessment
Assessment consists of extensive case studies, practical observations and theory exams. Extensive study is required and necessary.
Successful completion enables students to practise as a Complementary Therapist.
