Certificate in Uniformed Services
Course Content
This course covers aspects including: Physical Fitness (boot camp, water-based fitness, circuits, resistance & CV training), Fitness Testing, Preparation for the application process, Leadership, Teamwork and also Communications and Numeracy. In addition, learners will develop their vocational knowledge and employability skills through the on-going input of industry partners in the civilian and military services, which provides a unique insight to the real-life experiences of those working in the uniformed services.
Entry Requirements
At interview, applicants are required to explain their experience, interests, knowledge and skills relevant to their chosen career in the uniformed/emergency services. They must demonstrate ability, understanding and a clear commitment to succeed. All applicants’ fitness levels will be assessed by gym-based fitness tests.
Method of Assessment
Assessments are integrated throughout with no formal exam at the end.
Future Prospects
Supports application to a range of services: Ambulance Service, Prison Service, Fire & Rescue Service, Police, Royal Navy, RAF, Army or Royal Marines. Progression to a relevant Sports & Fitness course may also be applicable.
