Course Content
This course provides an excellent induction to the hospitality industry. Learners will undertake a range of practical and theoretical units including Food and Drink Operations; Cost and Control in Hospitality; Food Hygiene; Customer Care Excellence; Hospitality Industry; Leading a Hospitality Team; Alcoholic Beverages; Barista Skills; Food Hygiene and Work Placement. The practical aspects of the course are facilitated in our Café Bar, Kitchen and Training Restaurant with a fully operational bar providing a realistic learning environment. Learners provide a breakfast and a lunch service to develop the necessary skills and knowledge required to achieve this qualification. Our excellent relationships with industry will provide you with opportunities throughout your studies.
Entry Requirements
To have completed four years of secondary education with National 5 qualifications or equivalent grades. A keen interest in hospitality with a view to progressing to HNC Hospitality Operations. Applicants may be asked to provide a reference.
Method of Assessment
Internal continuous assessments using various methods including open and closed book assessments, observations and projects.
Future Prospects
This course has been designed to meet the growing needs of the hospitality industry, allowing the learner the opportunity to go straight into employment or progress into HNC Hospitality Operations.
