Fast Track Business and Accounting
This course covers a diverse range of topics, which will give learners a springboard into further study in three different areas: Accounts; Business Administration and IT; Business Management. It offers a unique opportunity to study over one academic semester, providing a good all-round knowledge and an opportunity to establish good core skills such as: communication, IT, problem solving, working with others and numeracy skills. It aims to prepare learners for employment or for progression to further academic qualifications. Suited to school leavers or mature applicants who meet the entry requirements and/or have suitable work experience.
A minimum of four passes at National 5 Level or successful attendance and completion of a relevant Certificate level course (may require a reference). Good reading, writing and communication skills are essential. Applicants with relevant work experience will also be considered. Selection will be based upon interview, core skills testing and a written piece of work.
Method of Assessment
A mixture of SQA and college devised units assessed continuously throughout the course.
Successful completion, and satisfactory reference, may allow progression to HNC level courses or employment. Applicants who are not accepted for the HNC may still be considered for relevant certificate programmes.
