Fast Track to HNC Childhood Practice
This short course includes various SQA units in child care subjects such as: Child Development, Services for Children & Young People, Supporting Children’s Behaviour, as well as Communication at Level 5. You are also expected to engage in some volunteering in a child care setting in order to relate theory learned in college to practice.
Three National 5s at C or above (in academic subjects) and willingness to undertake volunteering in a child care setting. Selection is based on: personal statement, qualifications and/or experience, one satisfactory reference and completion of a short values task.
Method of Assessment
Summative assessments, class activities, written reports and essays, presentations plus an externally marked, project-based assessment.
Successful completion may lead to progression to HNC Childhood Practice.
