Advanced Certificate in Administration and IT
The course is designed to allow learners to gain advanced knowledge and skills in the area of administration. Learners will receive specialist training in Microsoft Office applications and administration topics such as Administration for HR activities, an understanding of finance as well as developing speed and advanced accuracy in text production.
In addition, this course provides a range of core subjects, which are essential to the understanding of office environments in a fast-changing digital landscape with social media for Customer Care.
This course is suited to school leavers who meet the entry requirements as well as mature applicants who meet the entry requirements and/or have suitable work experience. This course offers routes of progression and acts as a precursor to the HNC in Administration and IT.
A minimum of four passes at National 5 level or National Progression Award, or successful attendance and completion of a relevant Certificate level course (may require a reference from group tutor). Good reading, writing and communication skills are essential. Applicants with relevant work experience will also be considered. Selection will be based upon interview, and levelling activities.
Method of Assessment
A mixture of SQA and college devised units assessed continuously throughout the year.
