Agricultural Skills (SCQF Level 5)
Course Content
This course aims to provide the necessary skills to enter employment or further training in this industry. Angus is well known for quality food production, including cereals, soft fruit, vegetables and livestock. The course includes training in use of machinery, land management and farm diversification. Input from local industry specialists.
Entry Requirements
No prior agricultural experience necessary. Competent reading, writing and numeracy skills along with qualifications that show the ability to work at SCQF level 5. Enthusiasm and genuine interest in working in the agricultural industry. Learners must be willing to work outdoors in all weathers.
Method of Assessment
Mixture of practical and written assessments.
Future Prospects
Possible progression to NC in Agriculture (Level 6) at SRUC, pre-apprenticeship programmes or direct employment in agriculture.
