Access to Health & Social Care
This course is designed to prepare learners to enter HNC. This course covers a variety of Higher level subjects comprising 9 credits (care-related units and core skills).
Successful completion of all units from Level 5 Child, Health and Social Care group award, Early Education and Childcare or a minimum of 4 National 5s or equivalent. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to work at Higher level. All applications will be considered on an individual basis. Suitable applicants will be invited to attend an interview. Selection will be made based on satisfactory completion of an interview, team building exercise, a diagnostic test and satisfactory reference.
Method of Assessment
Variety of assessment methods are used: class activities, written reports and essays. Open & closed book assessments required by the awarding body.
Successful completion of all units, a good attendance record and a positive reference may allow students to progress to HNC Care and Administrative Practice or HNC Social Services.
