Certificate in Retail, Events and Marketing
Learners gain a broad knowledge within these three career areas, preparing them for further study in Retail, Events and Marketing. Subjects studied include: Event Organisation; Event Investigation; Event Costing; Marketing; Digital Imaging; Selling Skills; Buying; Fashion - An Introduction and Visual Merchandising. This course also includes the Skills for Work retailing qualification. Learners will gain hands-on retail experience by working in the college pop-up shop (Tempus) and digital knowledge by participating in the running of the Tempus website.
A minimum of four National 4 qualifications. Consideration will also be given to applicants with other relevant qualifications or life/work experience. Applicants should have a desire to work towards entry into Advanced or HNC level or a career within the Retail, Events and Marketing industry.
Method of Assessment
There will be no end of course test but continual assessment throughout the year.
Further study includes Advanced Certificate in Retail, Marketing and Business. May also lead to employment or apprenticeships in these areas.
