Understanding Child Development (Skills Boost/YPG)

Course Content

This course will support you in developing an understanding of how children grow and develop. It will enable you to investigate children and young people's development pre-birth to 16 years. You will be given the opportunity to learn about holistic development and how different aspects of development interrelate. You will also learn about how life experiences and other factors can impact development, both positively and negatively.  

Entry Requirements

You should be interested in working with children and young people, in health or social care or education or as a parent/carer. You may already work in the sector and would like to enhance your knowledge or you are new to the sector and looking to reskill.

Method of Assessment

Online quizzes and activities.

Future Prospects

Successful completion may support your application to full/part time study at D&A. It may also enhance the possibility of engaging with an apprenticeship within the sector or undertaking an SVQ within your work role.
