Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training
Course Content
The aim of this qualification is to develop those with existing knowledge & skills in Gym instruction who would like to pursue a career in personal training.
Course covers:
Anatomy & Physiology, lifestyle & medical factors, Effective communication skills for client consultations to embed healthy lifestyle behaviours & strategies for change, Planning & conducting physical activity sessions with different types of clients, Legal & professional requirements, Set up & management of a personal training business, Managing, evaluating & improving own performance.
Course dates are as follows.
Workshop days: Sat 29th, Sun 30th May, Sat 12th & Sun 13th June
Assessment days: Sat 17th & Sun 18th Jul
All days 9.30am – 5pm at Gardyne S.C
Entry Requirements
We must register candidates with Active IQ before the start date so please book as soon as possible. Candidates should have a suitable Level 2 qualification in Gym Instructing. The tutor will require evidence of this. The course requires a degree of exercise so physical fitness is necessary. There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) and application of number involved, & learners should have basic skills in communication and application of number pitched at levels 3 and 2 respectively.

Future Prospects
Successful achievement will allow the learner to gain employment within an organisational setting or alternatively in a self-employed environment. It provides access to the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs).
