Course Content

The course tests the gas safety competencies of a participant by undertaking a review of their understanding of the practical and theoretical aspects of working with gas cooking appliances.

Areas of study include:

  • Installation and maintenance of gas cookers and hobs
  • Permitted installation location for appliance
  • Ventilation requirements
  • Commissioning of cookers
  • Indentifying unsafe situations


Method of Assessment

Following the course, participants will complete a BPEC written open book assessment and practical assessment.
