CIH Level 5 Diploma In Housing

Course Content

A one year vocational qualification for aspiring professionals, supervisors and managers who wish to achieve CIH Chartered Membership (CIHCM). Chartered status is a demonstration of housing expertise, commitment and ethical standards. This qualification consists of the following units: ethical practice in housing; leadership and management in housing; strategic and business planning for housing organisations; housing in context; managing relationships in housing and professional practice skills in housing. Learners are provided with the knowledge and understanding across the key areas of housing practice at a recognised professional standard and provided with the skills to perform in a senior management role.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should be working in either a paid or voluntary capacity in housing and also have completed one of the following: CIH Level 4 Certificate in Housing; CIH Level 4 Certificate, or Diploma in Housing Practice or equivalent.

Method of Assessment

Learners have access to online course materials and are assigned a college tutor who will provide on-going support throughout their studies.

Future Prospects

On successful completion, learners will be eligible for CIH Chartered Membership and can progress to the University of Stirling or University of Glasgow to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma/MSc in Housing Studies.
