Units may include word processing and information technology, developing skills for employment, audio typing, managing time and resources, medical reception and records, researching and preparing presentations, medical terminology and communication. A work placement is provided where learners undertake a vocational qualification in business administration with appropriate units selected around the job role. Some work placements are subject to a Protection of Vulnerable Group (PVG) check before starting.
Minimum four Standard Grades at Level 3/4 or National 4 at Grade C or above (including English) or completion (at least 12 units) of an introductory qualification. Mature applicants will be assessed on an individual basis and may be required to undertake an exercise. All applicants are subject to an interview and core skills diagnostic test.
Method of Assessment
Continuous assessment and the use of an e-portfolio within the workplace.
