BA (Hons) Dance (Completion Award)

Course Content

This course seeks to provide all students with an advanced knowledge within five key modules including: technique, performance and academic studies. It includes seminar presentations, portfolio building, facilitation, unique opportunities to take choreographic work to full staged productions and opportunities to take part in specialist workshops led by professional dance artists. This programme seeks to provide a learning environment that is challenging, creative and supportive. Learners will be encouraged to take responsibility for their own work and self-management, developing autonomy and preparation for the profession. The BA(Hons) course is where learners can solidify their artistic enquiry and identity as a performer, choreographer, facilitator, and researcher. This is achieved through self-directed learning and choices embedded within the program.

Entry Requirements

Students who have achieved HND Contemporary Dance or equivalent may progress onto this programme upon successful completion of a practical audition and interview.

 

Method of Assessment

On-going continuous coursework involving a range of practical performances as well as academic submissions.

Future Prospects

Entry into the dance industry as a performer, choreographer, arts facilitator, progression onto post graduate and Masters level courses.
