This course will focus on progression with an emphasis on essential skills of Numeracy, Communication, ICT and Personal Development Planning. In addition, learners may undertake tasters in various vocational areas and be given the opportunity to gain City & Guilds qualifications. Tasters in various vocational areas will be organised to allow participants to explore next steps. This course is suited to mature learners who may need additional support and guidance in relation to career or study aspirations.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course although it is primarily aimed at adults who have been out of work or away from education for some time. Applicants will be invited to discuss their application at interview; a personal learning support plan will also be completed.
Method of Assessment
Assessments will be carried out when learners are ready. These will mainly be open-book.
Learners may progress on to other full-time courses or into employment.
