Advanced Certificate in Administration and IT
The course is designed to allow learners to gain advanced knowledge and skills in the area of business administration. Learners will receive specialist training in Microsoft Office applications and business administration as well as developing speed and advanced accuracy in text production. In addition, this course provides a range of core subjects, which are essential to the understanding of business and office environments in a fast-changing digital landscape. Suited to school leavers who meet the entry requirements; mature applicants who meet the entry requirements and/or have suitable work experience.
A minimum of four passes at National 5 level or successful attendance and completion of a relevant Certificate level course (may require a reference from group tutor). Good reading, writing and communication skills are essential. Applicants with relevant work experience will also be considered. Selection will be based upon interview, core skills testing and a written piece of work.
Method of Assessment
A mixture of SQA and college based units. There will be no end of course test but continual assessment throughout the year.
Successful completion and satisfactory reference, may allow progression to HNC level courses or employment. Applicants who are not accepted for the HNC may still be considered for relevant certificate programmes.
