This course may include the following units: Spreadsheets, Word Processing, Research & Preparing Presentations, Audio, Medical Reception, Medical Terminology, Developing Skills for Employment. A work placement is provided where learners undertake a vocational qualification in business administration with appropriate units selected around the job role. Some work placements are subject to a Protection of Vulnerable Group (PVG) check before starting.
Minimum academic qualifications: four Standard Grades at level 3/4 or National 4 at Grade C or above (including English) or completion (at least 12 units) of an introductory-level qualification. Mature applicants will be assessed on an individual basis and may be required to undertake an exercise. All applicants are subject to an interview and core skills diagnostic test, which must be achieved at Intermediate 1 for Communication and Numeracy and for IT.
Method of Assessment
Continuous assessment and the use of an e-portfolio within the workplace.
Successful completion of this programme and a satisfactory reference will guarantee an interview with the NHS and may lead to Advanced Certificate in Administration and IT.
