Access to Physical Sciences (SWAP)
This course is designed to develop knowledge and understanding of physics, chemistry and maths. In addition to these core subjects, learners will also be working towards developing skills in communications and IT. This course can accept learners who are eligible for SWAP (Scottish Wider Access Programme) status. SWAP courses are designed for learners who have been out of full-time education for at least 3 years. For learners who are not SWAP eligible, this course will provide an opportunity to progress onto HN level studies in Applied Science or other relevant subject.
There are no formal minimum entry requirements but applicants will be required to attend an informal interview and pass a short entry diagnostic assessment. Applicants should demonstrate a desire to study these subjects at Higher level and demonstrate a commitment to their studies. There are English efficiency entry requirements of 6.0 IELTS score for students who have English as a second language.
Method of Assessment
Closed-book assessments at the end of each unit and the completion of compulsory practical experiments.

Tuition fees may be paid for full-time students in Scotland subject to meeting residency requirements, applications should be made to the appropriate funding body
