Access to Social Care

Course Content

This course includes a range of national progression awards, which are relevant to careers in health and social care. It includes a variety of care-based subjects designed to underpin knowledge in a range of care settings. Core skills are integrated throughout the programme. Opportunity to study National 5 Mathematics which can support progression to social work and university.

Entry Requirements

Four National 5s at C pass or above, or equivalent, to include English and other core skills must be minimum Level 4, or successful completion of a Level 5 Care course. Selection will be made on a satisfactory personal statement and qualifications.

Method of Assessment

Assignments may include class activities, written reports and essays, case studies, presentations, and project-based assessments.

Future Prospects

Completion of all units, a good attendance record, and a positive reference may allow learners to progress to HNC Social Services or into employment.
