Course Content

The animation industry has exploded in scale and scope exponentially in the last decade.

Whether for Games, Virtual Reality, Visual FX, TV, or Feature Films, there is a bigger demand than ever.

This short course provides all you need to get started making your own 3D animations. Whether it’s as a stepping stone into a future career in these industries or so you can visualise ideas for a new kitchen, Grand Design, or Dragon’s Den prototype: this course will provide a relaxed and fun environment in which to get started with support and positive encouragement. 

The course will help you learn:

  • How to use a variety of tools to create any 3 dimensional shape
  • How to add colour, texture, and other material properties
  • How to light your scene and add action and cameras   
  • How to use cinematic effects to tell your story with more impact

Entry Requirements

Previous experience and skills in traditional art & design and in using creative software is helpful but enthusiasm to learn is the only essential requirement.

What Will I Need?

If you can bring along a sketchbook (A4 or A3) and a pencil etc. to every class as well as a USB stick that would be great.

All materials are available to purchase in the College Library prior to class.
