Why study Construction at D&A College?
Construction is one of the UK’s largest industries and a diverse and interesting field to work in. Due to a current skills shortage it offers a wide range of employment opportunities and, locally, with Dundee’s regeneration project, there couldn’t be a better time to get involved.
If you are good with your hands and detail-oriented, this could be for you. Learners develop skills in engineering, architecture, surveying and construction as well as in business and can become a vital part of construction teams, working on all kinds of projects, from highways to houses.
Classes at D&A College cover topics such as structural engineering and construction techniques, site inspection, analysis of plans and specifications, building codes, and management of construction workers. Meanwhile, our craft hand skills create the trades people of the future with courses for carpenters, bricklayers, painters, roofers, plumbers and electricians.
You can start at Level 4 (Design & Build/Skills for Work for S3 Students) and progress to a Modern Apprentice and through to HND and on to university.
The college also has very strong commercial links within civil engineering, delivering across all levels, producing learners who are ready to join Scotland’s modern workforce.
