We caught up with Ben Dingwall, our Modern Apprenticeship lead and lecturer within our hospitality sector to hear his thoughts on the importance of education and industry working together.

The Modern Apprenticeship scheme within the hospitality department has really grown over the past few years, with the close relationship between the College and The WeeCOOK Kitchen in Carnoustie being at the heart of this success and growth. Young Paul Curran is the newest recruit for our MA scheme from The Wee Cook and is about to start his apprenticeship in Food and Beverage service. Paul is the fourth MA from The Wee Cook and will be joining two of his work colleagues already studying their professional cookery course with us.
A Modern Apprenticeship route is a great way for young people to earn while they learn which benefits the employer as well as the employee.
