Nearly two hundred young people from across Tayside came to D&A College earlier this month to find out how apprenticeships could be their future. As being ‘paid to learn’ continues to grow in popularity, our ‘Discover Apprenticeships’ event was the perfect setting to find out more about the opportunities available.
“The College is perfectly positioned to offer guidance on apprenticeships, both to employers and potential candidates. We not only offer training in every kind of apprenticeship from accounting to life sciences, we employ a considerable number of modern apprentices ourselves.”, says Customer engagement manager, Karen Donaldson.
As well as chatting to staff and current apprentices about their experiences, there was a range of hands-on activities taking place to showcase some of the possibilities. This included learning how to build and strip a PC; using electrophoresis and microscopy in our pop-up science lab; and testing your engineering skills by playing giant Jenga.
