College Students Impress at Courier Business Awards

31 January 2017
“The feedback we have had across the board has been nothing short of exceptional both from the organisers and guests attending the event. The “Bar” has been raised significantly and this would not have been possible without the support from the college. Without exception, the students and lecturers have been superb and held the reputation of Dundee and Angus College is at the highest level.   Brett Davidge, General Manager, Apex City Quay Hotel, Dundee.  Praise indeed for our hospitality students who were assisting both in the kitchen and with the service of food at the Courier Business Awards.  The event was held at one of the city’s top hotels, the Apex City Quay and our students clearly performed well in what was a heated and pressurised environment.  “I am confident that all of the team enjoyed what was a very tough weekend for everybody. They did this willingly and with an attitude which any future employer would be foolish to ignore. Over and above the practicalities of delivering the event, all of those involved can be very proud of what they have achieved and they can stand with confidence against the backdrop of the toughest competitor.  Thank you for your continued support of Apex City Quay and the wider hospitality sector in Dundee.”

In September last year D&A College had the distinction of being awarded the Erasmus+ VET Mobility Charter. We are the only college in Scotland to be successful in this round – a great result in a very competitive area! The application focused on our European quality management systems and having the charter is a badge of quality which should attract leading EU institutions to us, as well as open doors to exciting opportunities for our staff and students in years to come.
